Everyone Needs a Backstop.
I, along with my sidekick Hol (I'm the short one) along w/ a motley crew including a heap of members on here have been front row at a combined number of almost countless Australian Funhouse shows so far, it's been an amazing experience and P!nk & her band have the most sensational vibe and energy and that deserves BUCKETS of kudos.
Over the years and and a LOT recently during the lining up and the waiting throughout this tour many people have asked me if P!nk is my favourite artist and I honestly answer no. I have been touched by music my entire life, my parents were 21 when I was born in Scotland into an Irish/Italian family where if you can't sing you better learn and if you really can't sing you better be able to play an instrument. haha! My parents and the people around them brought music into my life in a way so that I can never be without it, I hear music even when the room is silent.
Prince was my first concert at 8 years old and I've been spoiled since then. My all time idol is Elvis Presley, I think I was the only 7 year old white Irish Italian girl scout to go to a GS Halloween party as Elvis circa the 70's Vegas era! haha! My house growing up was awash with every kind of music from Bowie to Streisand and the Sex Pistols to Janis and Annie Lennox, there was and still is no rhyme or reason, for me, from Punk to Motown and I am grateful every day to have the wide open mind that I do about almost everything, not just music. I believe that I am the word eclectic personified.ha! Live music is a part of me, it's the only place that I can escape, be it from something tiny, a little band in a dirty little bar to something so grand it can be earth shattering like Cher in Vegas.
So when I answer "no" to P!nk being my favourite artist it's very true but she IS however the one that I have grown up WITH. We are around the same age and as with every other girl I know to have grown up in the early 80's through to the late 90's (and before and after this era) we share many of the same issues that she conveys through her music.
In life it helps to have a backstop in my life that backstop if often P!nk.

You on P!nk
